Hospital and Surgery Center Management and Consulting

Our focus is to be successful in each venture we team on. This process ideally begins during the initial ASC or Hospital Development phase. It is not our goal to manage dozens of centers and do it poorly; rather we focus on a few to make them exceptional. Occasionally, we will accept both ASC and Hospital Consulting engagements when an organization may find themselves with expenses exceeding the revenue and are in need of operational or clinical turn-around strategies and assistance.

Working with our clients and their staff, we place quality and efficiency at the forefront of all our engagements. Combining these principles with our proven ability to execute, monitor, and measure a plethora of small but essential details, makes Clarity Management and Consulting Services a one stop shop for development and project sizing, physician recruitment, syndication, equipment planning, patient volume growth strategies, cost containment, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Clarity Consultants can assist in improving or reinventing the perception of your center with our “five-star experience program for stakeholders.” We do this by flow charting every step of a stakeholder process and evaluating best approaches. National experience at multiple site locations have allowed us to witness some of the best run healthcare entities – as the same time we have observed some of the worst. Knowing what “TO” do and what “NOT” to do may seem fundamental; but is frequently misperceived. Little changes can make big changes while also making services more convenient and less expensive; placing an emphasis on personal service and the patient environment; providing predictability of the scheduling process; on-time starts, appropriate supplies on hand, pulled and placed; and OR turnover. We teach the center staff to over-communicate to physicians; patients and each other’s showing the result will be more productive and rewarding than under communicating.

Clarity Health Managing, Re-Branding, Re-Vitalizing and Re-Inventing

Clarity Health has a developed program to assist groups or facilities that would benefit from additional expertise to reach higher goals. We manage new facilities and re-brand, re-vitalize and re-invent existing facilities. If you have a hospital or ambulatory surgery center that should be performing at an elevated level, Clarity Health can assist with identifying opportunities and creating efficiencies toward improved performance. The revitalization process begins with an on-site audit and analysis of your facility operations by Clarity Health team members. We will review everything from the business office practices to your clinical operations, from the point of supply entry to billing supplies consumed. This site visit is followed by a deliverable detailing a proposed action plan for improvement.

Description of Clarity Health Managed Services

  • Perform an on-site operational systems audit to evaluate efficiencies and conduct a business office audit to evaluate coding, billing processes, electronic claim filing, collections, and outstanding A/R.
  • Review payor contracts and reimbursement practices.
  • Perform revenue and expense analysis for all departments.
  • Interview staff, physicians and managers/administrators to obtain their input and ideas for improvement.
  • Analyze and identify market-specific opportunities or threats affecting business success.
  • Review vendor contracts, requisition and purchasing approval processes, accounts payable process and salary structure to identify potential cost reductions and facility savings.
  • The Clarity Health team is usually on-site for two to three days with additional follow up by phone and e-mail, as needed.
  • Options for implementation of action plan and management of facility by Clarity Health.
